Heat Index in the Upper 90°s This Afternoon

Current Radar

Today – Dry High: 93°

Another dry day across our area! The heat index will top out in the upper 90°s today around 3:00 PM.

As for the cloud cover – we will some high to mid level clouds sticking around today.

HRRR model has no showers for us! They will stay mainly east.

You are probably wondering if the complex of showers to the northwest will make it here. They may make it as far as NW Middle Tennessee, but our NWS (and the HRRR model, apparently), thinks high pressure will squash them.

Winds will stay calm again today with a muggy dewpoint.

Monday – Scattered Showers High: 94°

The upper level ridge continues to dominate! I recommend eating inside for lunch since the heat index will climb into the triple digits by noon.

We do have a chance for some scattered showers in the area – mainly in the afternoon into the evening hours.

The NAM has a few brief pop-up showers around us on Monday around 7:00 PM.

Tuesday – It’s Going to Feel Hot High: 94°

It will be a ponytail type of day for the ladies.

The heat index will reach 104° around 3:00 PM with winds fairly calm throughout the day. The GFS and ECMWF models have showers in the area by late afternoon.

Extended: The last week of July continues to stay warm with the heat index in the triple digits through Thursday. For Wednesday – the models show showers in the area around lunchtime. Of course we will let you know about timing as the week progresses!
