Heat Advisory Extended; Heat Index Above 100°

Current Radar

Today – The Heat and Humidity Continue! High: 96°

Another hot day in store for us! The NWS has extended the Heat Advisory through Monday until 7:00 PM.

A ridge of high pressure is still settled overhead of us and heat index values will be well above 100° today!

Looks like mid-upper level clouds will be around for the remainder of the day. We can’t rule out a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon.

The HRRR Model seems to agree that majority of the rain should stay off to the east of 65 and north of 40.

There may be a few pop-ups around lunchtime in our area. The good news: it won’t be a washout!

Monday – Sizzling Heat Index and Scattered Showers (Mainly East) High: 95°

Temperatures get slightly cooler, but remain above normal for this time of year. We continue in the heat advisory, but some cloud cover will be sticking around on Monday.

Heat Index ranges from 101° – 104°.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon for us. The afternoon commute from work shouldn’t be affected.

Tuesday – Passing Summer “Cold” Front High: 93°

Slightly cooler temperatures can be expected as the front passes. The GFS modelhas rain moving in overnight from Monday (around midnight) into Tuesday morning, but rain totals are not high.

We will continue to stay warm, but the cloud cover and scattered showers will prevent the heat index from going over 100°.

Extended: On Wednesday, the heat index will stay below 100°, with a few showers are still possible later in the week. Anyone else feel like July is going by so quickly? Whoa!
