Tonight – Showers Diminishing, Turning Colder, Freezing Drizzle? – Evening Temps in 30°s

A cold front is going to cruise through Middle Tennessee tonight and continue to push most of the rain east. There is a slight chance we may see some drizzle falling overnight as temperatures fall toward freezing.

Some patchy ice is possible overnight with the freezing drizzle potential. Bridges and other elevated services will be the main concern, but we are not expecting major, widespread problems. The precipitation will be very light, and brisk north winds will help dry the roads.

This will have to be watched very closely. The NAM4 model does go on to develop “stronger” drizzle returns later into the morning, just to our SE.

Tuesday – Colder & Cloudy – Wake Up 29°, High 37°

Freezing drizzle should gradually yield to cloudy skies during the day Tuesday. Otherwise, it’s just Blerg.

Wednesday – Blerg, Small Chance of Light Wintry Precip at Night – Wake Up 25°, High 37°

Another weather system will approach Wednesday night and bring the potential for light, mixed precipitation. But, again, little or no accumulation is expected. We don’t think there will be any major impacts. The fact that winter has been disappointing us for so long does not mean it is incapable of surprising us.
