A Very Steve Martin Forecast

Current Official Hourly Observation (taken at :53 on the hour)

Our very special guest today will be the one and only Steve Martin!

I showed Steve the rain totals from yesterday.

Williamson:

Davidson:

rain total Davidson

He was very pleased to see a few places in Davidson County get over an inch of rain, but wishes the higher rain totals were more widespread.

He calls this the “rain dance”.

Today – Hot & Humid – High 95

High pressure has continued to strengthen and entrench itself over Nashville. This is keeping our highs in the mid 90’s. Combine this heat with the oppressive humidity, and our heat indices are in the triple digits.

The National Weather Service is forecasting the heat and humidity to be on the rise throughout the weekend.

Friday– Heat & Humidity Continue-  Low 75, High 96

We will be a bit hotter and uncomfortably humid, with heat indices close to 104°.

Saturday– Rain Possible- Low 76, High 96

Humidity will continue to rise. This will cause the heat index to be near 106°.

We have a chance for some relief in the form of rain. The NWS is giving us a “chance” for showers and thunderstorms from 8 AM to 8 PM. Unfortunately, it looks like the bulk of the activity will stay east of I-65.

Extended Forecast:

Rain chances will continue into next week, but highs will remain in the 90’s.

I’d like to thank Steve for joining us on @NashSevereWx today!

I think we all can agree with Emma Stone.
