Today –  Partly Sunny, Slight Chance for Thunderstorms  – High 89

A weak surface front is approaching from the West this morning giving us a slight chance for thunderstorms until noon. The National Weather Service thinks our best chance for showers and thunderstorms is before 1 PM.

After the passage of the front  this morning we will be influenced by drier air making it nearly impossible to produce pop up afternoon showers.

The National Weather Service believes that places West of the Plateau will stay dry today into tonight.Overnight we will be mostly cloudy but rain free.

Thursday – Partly Sunny,  Chance of Thunderstorms – Wake Up 68, High 91

A disturbance will work its way through Middle Tennessee during the morning and afternoon hours. This will give us a chance for showers and thunderstorms all day… With the best chance coming in the afternoon. The National Weather Service believes all of Middle Tennessee will see rain by the afternoon as a disturbance marches through.

The NAM agrees with the NWS and puts the bulk of the showers and thunderstorms in Nashville by 1 PM.

The Storm Prediction Center does not believe any storms that develop will become severe in Tennessee.

Lower level moisture will build in as another surface front approaches from the West. The National Weather Service thinks our best chance for heavy rainfall will be in the afternoon.

The NAM has the showers beginning in Nashville around 10 AM.
