A Tornado Watch is in effect until Midnight. We’re on the eastern edge of the Watch area.

A Watch means conditions are favorable for a tornado. You should closely monitor the weather and know where you’re going to go in the event a Warning is issued.

A Warning means a tornado is occurring or imminent. You should immediately take cover when a warning is issued.

Notice that the severe wind threat is the most likely form of severe weather we will see tonight. As our NWS wrote this afternoon:

“Straight line winds can do as much damage as most tornadoes do. Please exercise caution on area roadways travel tonight and monitor the updated latest forecasts to keep current on this developing potential severe weather situation.”
