Tuesday Rain/Storms

7 a.m. 63   10 a.m. 69   1 p.m. 74   4 p.m. 75   7 p.m. 72   10 p.m. 67

An approaching cold front will push numerous showers, and maybe a few thunderstorms, across middle Tennessee Tuesday afternoon and evening. Models suggest light showers, off and on, arriving as soon as the morning.

According to the Hi-Res NAM, the bulk of the rain will arrive around 10 p.m. Tuesday night:

We expect under a half-inch of rain:

We do not think there will be any strong or severe storms. In fact, these may not even qualify as storms. It may just be rain.

Rain Ends Wednesday

The cold front will arrive Wednesday, sweeping out any lingering morning showers, and cutting down our temps. Wednesday’s afternoon temps will be about 8 degrees colder than Tuesday’s afternoon temps.

Colder Thursday & Friday

Thursday’s wake-up temp will be 49. Clouds will linger, and we can’t rule out a few showers from a passing upper level trough. The GFS is picking up on this light shower activity as of 1 p.m. Thursday:

Thursday afternoon temps will be about 10+ degrees colder than normal. Behold the GFS temperature anomaly for Thursday at 1 p.m.:

Friday’s wake-up temp will be 46, but we should warm into the upper-60s.

The Weekend

A bit cloudy with only a slight chance of a passing Saturday afternoon shower, but so far we think it will be dry. Look for upper 40s in the morning, low 70s in the afternoons.
