Hot. Storms Possible Wednesday.

Rest of Tuesday – Isolated Showers Possible – High 92

Widely scattered thunderstorms are popping up, mostly to our south and east. A few may fly by today. Lightning is the main concern, although we can’t rule out an unusually strong cell or two.

Here is a quick video update from Yours Truly, The Intern:

Wednesday – Scattered Thunderstorms; Possible Severe – High 95

7a 75 . 10a 87 . 1p 93 . 4p 95 . 7p 91 . 10p 83

The heat is on! Heat index is forecast to be up to 99. This heat and humidity may set off scattered thunderstorms. Some storms could become strong to severe. Isolated wind damage will be our greatest threat with the strongest of storms.

SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has us under 5% chance of severe weather occurring within 25 miles of you.

This is how the Hi-Res NAM model plays things out. It keeps most of the storms to our east Wednesday 2 PM – Thursday 12 AM. Crazy Ivan!

Thursday – HOT, Humid, Random Thunderstorm – High 94

7a 76 . 10a 87 . 1p 92 . 4p 94 . 7p 90 . 10p 81

Will be a smudge cooler than Wednesday. A chance of afternoon thunderstorms will still be there, but right now we are not expecting them to be too strong or severe. Expect a typical summer day in Nashville.
