Tuesday

A shortwave will increase our chance for showers and thunderstorms late tonight and early Tuesday. Scattered/numerous afternoon thunderstorms are expected across Middle Tennessee, which will be more likely N of I-40 than S of I-40.

Storms are likely for us after noon. The high is 90.

As for specific timing, the NAM is splitting the heavier showers, with us in the inactive middle, around 7 PM:

The GFS has the rain around 4 PM:

A few other models don’t have any rain at all,

but I think rain is likely.

Wednesday – Friday

After the shortwave passes Tuesday, expect a return to typical summertime weather. That means random showers and thunderstorms, more likely in the late afternoon/early hours. These will pop up, but we don’t know exactly when or where. Don’t be surprised if it rains/storms any of these afternoons.

Temps will max out in the low 90s.

Another shortwave arrives. Right now, NWS thinks the best chance for showers and thunderstorms will be Saturday night and Sunday.
