The cold front that moved through Middle Tennessee has brought drier conditions. It will not last.
Tonight will be the coldest of the week with temps dipping into the lower 40’s. Patchy frost is possible overnight into Friday morning.
Friday – Dry, Sun & Some Clouds- Wake Up: 41°, High: 66°
Friday morning will begin a bit chilly with patchy frost. A warm front will begin to creep towards Nashville and increase temps and chances for showers and thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service believes that we will have a chance for showers after noon. Below is a look at the NAM 12 KM Model at 4 PM.
Overnight, the warm front will move through Middle Tennessee and set off more widespread showers and thunderstorms. A few strong and possibly severe storms could develop along the front late Friday night. The good news is that the Storm Prediction Center believes that the severe storms will stay west of I-65 overnight.
Early Saturday morning rain is likely. Some thunderstorms will be possible.
Saturday – Severe Thunderstorms Possible – Wake Up 56°, High 77°
The Storm Prediction Center believes there is a risk for severe storms Saturday morning, but the higher risk will occur Saturday afternoon as a cold front sweeps through Middle Tennessee.
The main hazards will be large hail and strong winds, but localized flooding and possibly a tornado cannot be ruled out at this moment. This is bad news for the Country Music Marathon…
Showers and thunderstorms will remain likely until 8 PM. After 8 PM, we will have mostly cloudy skies and hang onto a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms.
