More Sun, Hot & Small Chances of Rain

Current Radar

Tonight: Rain Chance Slim After Sunset, Few Passing Clouds – 9 PM 86°

Beautiful skies and hot conditions have prevailed so far today. Our atmosphere has remained capped off, not allowing any pesky showers and thunderstorms to develop so far. Still a chance for a few to pop-up, but after sunset that chance will diminish greatly.

Overnight, expect a few passing clouds and for temps to stay pretty warm in the mid 70s.

Thursday: Hot, Better Chance of Showers Thursday Night – Wake Up 76° High 96°

Thursday will start off much like today; sunny, hot, humid.

Not expecting much to any rain in the afternoon, but we do have that small chance of pop up showers.

syfy no shark ugh sharknado

However, Thursday night we do have a good chance of seeing some showers and thunderstorms.

NAM 4 seems to really like the possibility of those showers and thunderstorms Thursday night:

With these showers/storms, we should see them developing to our Northwest on radar well before they would reach us (these should not be pop-up in nature). We currently have a Marginal Risk for severe weather with the main concerns being damaging winds.

We’ve have a lot of “chances” of rain the past few days, but this seems to have more confidence from the models in actually reaching us. North of 1-40 has an even higher probability of seeing some of these showers and possibly severe storms in the late evening hours.

Friday: Still Hot, Small Chance of Showers – Wake Up 75° High 93°

A bit (barely) cooler on Friday with temps into the low 90s. Expecting a few more clouds to start on Friday, but sunny skies should prevail through the majority of the day. Have a small chance of pop-up showers, which is normal with dew points well into the 70s.

Friday night any rain should begin to dissipate leaving us with partly cloudy skies overnight.

Extended Outlook: Sun, Hot, Possibility of Showers

My Forecast - Google Chrome 2016-06-22 06.09.37

This weekend looks to be a pretty good continuation of what we have seen so far this week. Most days will start off with mostly sunny skies and stay fairly hot and muggy through the day. Each day presents a small chance of showers. Any rain we see should be fairly quick moving and isolated.

Wouldn’t cancel any outdoors plans for the weekend, but with the general trend of summer weather, would have a good rain plan in place just in case.
