Heat Backing Off, Rain Chances Going Up

Current Radar

Tonight: Chance of Showers, Temps Fall Through the 80s into the Upper 70s

Rain chances tonight will greatly depend on when/if we see showers in the afternoon. If this squall line stays intact, we could see some early evening hour activity. If it does not, then we could see a few pop up afternoon showers that should dissipate as we head into the evening hours.

Tuesday: Sunny & Hot, Then Maybe Some Rain – Wake Up 75° High 93°

Generally a similar start to Tuesday as can be seen on Monday. Sunny, hot, and humid with increasing clouds through the AM and early afternoon hours.

We have a chance of showers into the Tuesday afternoon to evening hours. Model guidance is a bit shaky, with one long term model (Euro) showing pretty widespread showers in the afternoon/evening hours. Then we have the GFS and NAM 4 that doesn’t appear to agree with that.

If you have afternoon/evening plans, I wouldn’t alter them. Just know where to go inside if an afternoon shower/thunderstorm develops.

Extended Outlook: Cloudy and Rain

For those wanting some relief from the heat, we should be getting some by the end of the week. High temps will continue to fall through the week, but dew points will stay a little muggy in the low 70s.

We will have ample amounts of moisture in our atmosphere though; and with a storm initiator (which we should get several times to end the week) we could see some showers and thunderstorms for much of the later half of the week.
