Current Radar
Tonight: Afternoon Rainers Dissipate – 9PM 83°
Any lingering afternoon storms will dutifully collapse and quickly fall apart at the approach of sunset. Temperatures will fall through the 80s into the upper 70s, so a nice night is in the bucket (beyond early evening rain chances) for a Nashville Sounds ballgame.
Wednesday: Increased Rain Chance, More Storms North – Wake Up 75° High 92°
We’re hoping Wednesday turns out a bit cooler than Tuesday, based on the idea that cloud cover will be abundant. Storm chances are fairly widespread Wednesday, but notice the 4KM NAM now wanting to shove most activity north of our area.
7PM Wednesday
This is something to watch close, as we *could* stay mostly dry if this idea verifies. After this summer’s unpredictability, I wouldn’t count on it.
Extended Outlook: More Rain Than Shine
Update – Rain chances will increase substantially Wednesday into Thursday as a surge of Gulf moisture returns to the area. The amount of “precipitable water” or “rain-able water” will peak at very high levels Thursday, so be ready for heavy rains and the potential for localized flash flooding.
Storm chances go back down just a little into the weekend, but not a whole bunch. Impulses of energy will traverse middle Tennessee, so just be prepared each day for a rain shower.
Looking way into the future, next week looks to dry out some more…but in conjunction is the return of high heat. High temperatures will return to 90 degree values with heat indexes near or above 100°.
